普通の会話
英語の時間に、「This is a pen.」 なんていうのがありました。
それでもって、先生がペンをもって、
「What is this？」なんて聞くわけです。
「これは何ですか？」って、、、。
見ればわかるんです、ペンだって。
それなのに、What is this?
日常にこんな会話はないんです。
まあ、英語の勉強はそういうものでしょうが。
でも、もし生徒の興味を喚起したいなら、手を後ろに回して、
「さて、私は何を持っていると思いますか？」なんて聞いてみる。
そうすると、生徒はいろいろ言う。これは楽しい。
それで、今コーチしている２人の医学部の教授、
それから太った目医者さんに聞きました。
「さて、僕はいま手の中に何を持っているでしょう？
いろいろ質問して当ててください。」
すると、一人の先生が、平然と質問しました。
「いま手に持っているのは何ですか？」
「・・・・・・」
どうやって普通の会話をしているんだろう、この人たち？
その昔、「あなたは誰ですか？」と聞いたら、
「私はダリではありません」と真顔で答えた人がいました。
その人の次に困惑する会話でした。
