あきらめきれずと、あきらめた
ふられて、しょげている友だちに
「いい加減にあきらめろよ」
「そう簡単にあきらめられるか」
そこで、
「そうかい。あきらめきれないなら、
いっそ、あきらめるなんてことも、あきらめちゃえ。」
それが、江戸の川柳で「あきらめきれずとあきらめた」になるわけです。
『江戸の知恵』という本に、あったような気がします。
粋ですね。
ちなみに「粋」の意味ですが、広辞苑にはこうあります。

気持や身なりのさっぱりとあかぬけしていて、
しかも色気をもっていること。
人情の表裏に通じ、特に遊里・遊興に関して精通していること。
（広辞苑第五版）

こうしてみると、粋と枠って字が似ている。
人が、枠から出るための知恵はずいぶん昔からあって、
枠から出るためには、それをどうひねくってもうまくいかない。
「わかっているんです。私にも、枠があって」
こういう人が枠から出たのを見たことがありません。
枠から出るためにもがいたからといって、
特にそこから出られるわけではありません。
枠から出るために必要なもの。
不測事態、パラドックス レトリック 変化、笑い、意外性、非常識、、、。
人は変化を求めます。
でも、自分にそれが起こるのは好みません。
自分以外のところで、変化が起こるのを見るのは大好きです。
それでもって、
「枠から出ないと」なんて、考えているわけです。
